1st Gen iPad Pro 12.9 backlight issues
Dear forum Members.
I have an iPad Pro that has a failing backlight. It works fine in the beginning, but fail to work after a few hours. Already tried a different screen, but the problem remains. 🙁
I have constant 3.8xxV on four pins of the LCD Connector (already verified these values with a know good board).
Thanks for your help
thanks for your reply. took those meassurements. Left one is 0.295 in both sides, the right one 0.296 on both sides. These two backlight filters were my first guess... :-/
But as mentioned in my initial post, backlight is working ...it just fails after a couple hours. 🙁
I was afraid thats not a common problem... 🙄
regarding your questions: yes, only backlight fails. With a flashlight, I can still see an image. Yes, same behavior with another screen. Is there maybe a "BKLT_EN" signal that fails?
Not that I know of. If I had to guess, then I would probably say that the backlight IC is the culprit because it is the only thing that could really cause both backlight systems to go out and it is the thing that handles the logic to turn on/off the backlight. If you've already checked everything else (diodes & coils), then I would probably just replace the IC first and go from there.
