ipad mini 2 no backlight
hi guys, i do microsoldering for fun and friend of mine gave me his ipad because he tried to replace the touch screen, with no luck.
the fuse l2200 was blown, and so the traces on pcb with it. i had to do a jump wire (with a new l2200) from cap c2233 to the 8228 diode.
touch and lcd screen are working good, but still no backlight (i had backlight for like 3/4 sec while booting for few times, and than no more backlight)
diode readings are ol and 0.157v (i've also replaced the diode but still no backlight)
lcd connector and all the connections on are good, and no shorts on any caps of the backlight circuit (tested all the caps for voltage and i get 4v on all of them)
a pic of what i've done (sorry for the bad quality):
i'm out of clues.
diode mode, probes on the 2 diode legs:
one reading is OL
the orher one is 0.157v
little update:i've replaced the screen with one from an dead ipad mini2 i've just got for few bucks, and everything works now, so it was a faulty lcd backplate of the original lcd.
sorry for waisting your time.
maybe i'll ask you more as soon i'll understand why the new mini is dead 😉
