[Solved] iPhone 7 microphones not working during calls only
Hello everyone. I have an iPhone which was brought by a customer to recover data. The iPhone was in short bootloop. After a visual inspection I noticed that baseband pmu was cracked, this is an intel version. So I went ahead and changed it. iPhone then boot correctly and I recovered all data. I started testing it and I noticed that microphones were not working during calls, either down and upper one. I thought it might be because of audio ic (I saw other iPhone 7 in same stage). So I changed it and running C12 jumper only but still iPhone had same issue. I than removed audio ic again and run 4 jumpers, put a new ic but the problem is still present. Someone suggested the two small audio ic, I thought they might not be the problem because they should be used by the lower dock part but i changed anyway, still no change yet. Do you think the issue might be because of baseband pmu which is not giving enough power to baseband cpu during calls or could be the baseband cpu itself which is causing the issue? Unfortunately there is no diode mode reading of the baseband pmu (intel) to check against. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Does vibration on the home button work? If it does work, then the problem could be the audio ic above the cpu on the front top of the logic board. If it doesn't work, then I would consider reballing Maggie, which is the black chip (I think) near the big audio ic.
I forgot to say that also Bluetooth microphone doesn’t work during calls while normally it works during audio ic disease, so I’m not so sure it’s audio ic related. Do you still think it’s because of that ic?
I'd give it a try.
This is just for the records or for someone else having a similar problem. I managed to solve the issue. As suggested somewhere else problem was given by the baseband cpu that was not encoding incoming audio far calls. After reballing the baseband cpu audio is working correctly, either incoming as well as outgoing.
