Samsung Note 4 Random issues
I have a Note 4 that a customer brought me complaining that the phone would randomly shut off at random times and usually he would just pull the battery out and put it back in and that would "usually" fix the issue, but some times it would pop up with an error code when first turned on and won't do anything until you pull the battery, or sometimes it won't turn on at all but if I'd let it sit for an hour or two it'll turn back on. His battery was visibly swollen and very bad. I sold him a new battery and noticed the negative pin that connects the battery to the motherboard was in pretty bad shape so I rebent it back to where it was supposed to be and he came back only this time the negative pin was broken off. I ordered a replacement connector from Europe and put that on and the phone is still doing kind of the same thing. I noticed it was rooted so I assumed it was bad software so I did the restore and got it to turn on and it was working just fine for 30 minutes or so and I did a restart just to see what would happen and now I can't get a thing out of it... If I come in tomorrow it will probably work again... Weird.
Yeah, sorry, I don't know much about Samsungs. It sounds like a software issue. I had one where the display was black, so we replaced the display IC to get the display working again. It did fix the display problem, but it was stuck in a rooted state. I used some program to try to restore the software, but I was never able to get the software working again. I gave up.
