iPhone 8/8+ Not Charging After DIY Screen Repair

Posted on May 7, 2018September 9, 2020 By Mike No Comments on iPhone 8/8+ Not Charging After DIY Screen Repair

iPhone 8 Stuck at 1 Percent

Symptoms: After a screen or battery repair, the phone boot loops a few times during boot up, then never charges. The battery percentage stays at 1% or charges very, very slowly.

The Damage: There are some small components near the display/lcd connector that gets dislodged when the connector is disconnected from the logic board. More specifically, a zener diode (DZ3200) and a transistor (Q3200).

The Fix: Usually, some pads are also missing, so we’ll need to run some micro-jumpers to the missing pads and replace the missing components.

Watch our video on how to repair this problem using microsoldering.

I highly recommend Mike and his team. I sent an iPhone 8 Plus to him for repair. Whole process took about 2.5 weeks. He kept me in the loop... read more the entire time. I just so happened to be searching on YouTube on how to DIY a repair and came across a microsoldering.com video. I’m so glad I didn’t attempt to do this myself. Will definitely continue to use their services.

Fixed the thunderbolt port on my apple/LG 5k display: $135 cost saved me from spending ten times that on a new monitor.

Took my iphone to another place and they broke it. I lost everything including stuff from my mother who died unexpectedly. Microsoldering retrieved all of my data and loaded it... read more perfectly on a new phone. I lost nothing. Wish I could give them more than 5/5 stars!
